Cergio Prudencio: composer, conductor, researcher and professor, founded in 1980 the Experimental Orchestra of Native Instruments (OEIN) which he has since then directed. His compositions do not follow the concept of a musical design, but are rather lively creations of entities that follow the natural cycle of energy or of energies that reveal their target, and which converge in a place where they exist and disappear, and where they relate in coherence with other entities. The compositional art of Prudencio represents a permanent search that nurtures an indisputably new language which he has created through the OEIN starting with The City (1980) and which he reinvents with every new work. In its twenty six years of existence OEIN has reached a wide range of creativity, interpretation, research and diffusion with a high professional level in the national and international arena. Prudencio conceives and interprets The City in complete faithfulness to the tradition of native music from the Bolivian high plateau, or Altiplano. His music is labelled as “high” avant-garde art, and it carries the undeniable imprint of the Bolivian traditional Andean music. His creation is not an adaptation of Altiplano music to “High” patterns, but it rather emanates from the concepts of the traditional Altiplano music. The result is a hybrid or mestizo product that adds new dimensions to both musical traditions in such matters as elaboration of the tone of voice quality and the development of the sounding material and structure.</dc:description>

The result is a hybrid or mestizo product that adds new dimensions to both musical traditions in such matters as elaboration of the tone of voice quality and the development of the sounding material and structure.</mods:abstract>

The result is a hybrid or mestizo product that adds new dimensions to both musical traditions in such matters as elaboration of the tone of voice quality and the development of the sounding material and structure.</dcterms:abstract>
