They have exposed the myths about women’s supposed creative inferiority and the assumption that art is the exclusive domain of men. Feminist artists and historians have always been in the forefront of challenging the pejorative stereotyping of art made by women. They have exposed the myths about women’s supposed creative inferiority and the assumption that art is the exclusive domain of men. Having put ‘images of women’ on the agenda of cultural analysis, feminist interventions in the theory and analysis of representation have created a diverse and intricate field of interpretation. As well, this paper reflects about the trends and conflicts of the 1990s Argentinean’s arts, in the light of the gender theory.</mods:abstract>
