A lot of new policy instruments have been established and the universities are at the forefront of the research effort.</dc:description>

   27. <dc:description lang="pt">A problématica do meio ambiente passou a preocupar as ciências sociais no Brasil sobretudo a partir de meados do anos 80, quando coincidem, como acontecimentos políticos fundamentais, o processo de abertura do regime militar, o retorno de profesores e cientistas brasileiros de envergadura intelectual considerável e o agravamento da chamada crise ecológico-ambiental em níveis local, regional, nacional e global.</dc:description>
